THE STORY & THE CHALLENGE

A character with a purpose, inside a filmed world.

A playful blue cat walks through Lisbon, making a creative idea visible, mobile and engaging. The short explores how a brand identity can become a character inhabiting the real world.

Original local cinematography provides the foundation, with a rare vintage Yashica-44 camera adding a distinctive prop to the visual identity.

Where AI contributed

Generative tools were used iteratively to develop the blue cat mascot, integrate it into the filmed environment and refine design elements such as its aviator goggles.

AI voice synthesis provided an English character performance, directed to support the cat’s playful personality.

The filmmaking craft

Concept, live-action filming, visual direction, pacing and brand framing guided the piece. The character’s integration was shaped by the photographed environment.

Editing, layered sound effects, sound design, logo animation and colour grading established the final timing, atmosphere and brand expression.

What this approach makes possible

The mascot begins with a communication idea: give an abstract creative identity a physical presence. Its expression, voice and relationship to the streets of Lisbon support that purpose, while the original cinematography provides the visual foundation.

The completed short depends on more than the character asset. Pacing, the vintage camera prop, sound effects, brand framing and colour finishing help turn the generated cat into a coherent audiovisual expression of Creative Visuals.

EXPLORE THE CREATIVE PROCESS

01Make an idea come to life.

A blue cat becomes a visual metaphor for creative ideas: visible, mobile and able to engage with the world. Lisbon gives that character a tangible place to inhabit.

Use character-based storytelling to express Creative Visuals through atmosphere, humour and a recognisable visual identity.

02Start with the real streets.

Original footage captured in Lisbon establishes the scene. The cat’s presence, vintage camera prop, pacing and personality are developed around that live-action foundation.

Guide the composition, visual direction and character behaviour so the idea belongs in the filmed environment.

03Give the idea a face and a voice.

Generative tools develop and integrate the blue cat, with iterative refinements including aviator goggles. A synthetic English voice supports its playful personality.

Create and refine character assets and voice performance under an established creative direction.

04Bring the personality together.

Editing, logo animation, colour grading and layered audio effects shape the final hybrid short. Sound and timing help the cat feel like a character rather than a visual insert.

Control the rhythm, cinematic treatment, soundscape and final brand expression.
